Dr. Michelle Cort-Mora, Principal
Dr. Cort-Mora is the Principal of Island Coast High School. She is a graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Massachusetts from which she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, she also holds an MBA in Finance, a Specialist in School Administration, and a Doctorate in School Administration with a concentration in Statistics. Dr. Cort-Mora has 24 years of experience in education, serving with distinction as a Teacher, District Administrator, Assistant Principal, and Principal. She enjoys running, fitness, reading, and spending time with her family. Dr. Cort-Mora has two daughters attending schools in the district and is a resident of Cape Coral.
Dr. A T, Assistant Principal
Dr. Chevoneese Anderson Thomas EdD, (Dr A T) is an Assistant Principal at Island Coast High School. Her undergraduate education was launched in Jamaica, where she earned a teaching and management degree. Her graduate and doctoral studies were accomplished at Nova Southeastern University of Florida. Prior to being an assistant principal, she served as teacher, project coordinator, marketer and data coach. She believes that school is a microcosm of the world and every student is capable of being successful. As a former classroom teacher in elementary, middle and high school serving both in regular and exceptional education, she combines business and education best practices to foster an efficient and well-managed learning atmosphere to support academic achievement for all students.
Cindy Schneider, Assistant Principal
Ms. Cindy Schneider is an Assistant Principal for Curriculum at Island Coast High School. Ms. Schneider received her undergraduate degree in Secondary Education at the State University of New York at New Paltz. She continued her education at SUNY New Paltz, earning graduate degrees in both Social Studies Education and School Administration. Before joining the administrative team at Island Coast she was a teacher, department chairperson, assessment coordinator and Dean of Students in New York and Florida. She prides herself on creating an educational atmosphere that is grounded in positive relationship building with both students and staff. In her free time Ms. Schneider enjoys spending time with her family on the water, boating, fishing and exploring new areas.
Michael Auer, Assistant Principal
Mr. Auer serves as Assistant Principal for Island Coast High School in Cape Coral, Florida. A graduate of Ball State University, Mr. Auer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in history and worked in the Lee County School District for more than 10 years as a Social Studies teacher before earning his Master of Education degree in educational leadership from the American College of Education. His experience includes working at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, as well as working in the professional development department for the School District of Lee County. In 2016, Mr. Auer was named Social Studies Teacher of the Year by the Lee County School District. Mr. Auer and his wife have lived in Fort Myers for the past 16 years, and enjoy exploring the area by boat with their three dogs.
