Island Coast High School’s Marketing and Business Academy is partnering with spring training organizations, local hotels and resorts, parks and recreation, and Florida tourism councils to teach students the importance of marketing within the hospitality industry. The courses within this program are Introduction to Hospitality and Tourism, Computer Technology for Travel and Tourism, Hospitality and Tourism Internship, and Travel and Tourism Marketing Management. Students exiting the program will hold industry certifications in Adobe Illustrator and Front Desk Supervisor through the American Hotel and Lodging Association Educational Institute.

The service industry employs more people than any other industry in the world. Experience in marketing is tremendously valuable in a global market where individuals and business are forced to compete and communicate their skills and products to a diverse and ever-changing market. Activities are hands-on and project-based. It is the goal of the Academy to provide students with training within Hospitality to meet the demands of the local workforce, as well as provide students with a foundation of Hospitality and Tourism upon entering a post-secondary Marketing or Hospitality program.
