2017 Cross Country Schedule

Cross Country Highlights

9/24/16

This Saturday the Boys and Girls Cross Country teams competed at North Port. The boys had to compete in the elite division because there wasn't any room in the Varsity race.

Mateo Defoor smashed the school record of 18:00 with a time of 16:51 earning 15th place (had he run regular varsity he would have come in 1st place!) Finishing 2nd for the Gators was Samier Lester who also broke the school record with a time of 17:52, Followed by Joey Retherford 18:53, Joey Perez 19:17, Caleb Fletcher 20:23, John Seal 20:24, Nick Herman20:24. The boys are currently 4th in the district.

For the girls Isabella Snyder came in 18th place with a time of 21:55, followed by Corey Pethers in 21st place with 22:00, Sarah Feliciano 23:50, Skyanna Billman 25:13, Sarah Vasquez 25:13, Shawna Roberts 26:16, Emily Feliciano 26:44 the girls were 11th out of 27 schools and are close to 4th in the district!  Everyone had Personal records! Wish the teams luck as they head to Lee County Conference next week!

This Saturday the Boy's and Girl's Cross Country teams competed at Veterans Park against 38 schools. The top 3 finishers for the boys were Mateo Defoor with a time of 18:10 (23 place) followed by Joey Retherford 20:00 and Joey Perez20:45.

Corey Pethers led the girl's team with 23:27 followed by Sara Feliciano 26: 17 (dropped 3 minutes off her personal best time) and Stephanie Hernandez 26:19. The boy's  and girl's JV teams continued to bring in Personal records as they battled for their spot on varsity.

The boy's team is currently 4th in the district with Mateo Defoor in 9th place overall.

 For the girls Corey Pethers is in 22nd place in the district and is moving up every week.

 Please congratulate and encourage the runners as they head to Mariner next week!

This Saturday the Cross Country team competed at their first meet of the season against 25 schools at the Caloosahatchee Regional Park. The top 3 finishers for the boys were Mateo Defoor with a time of 18:27, followed by Joey Perez and Joey Retherford.

Corey Pethers led the girl's team followed by Shawna Roberts and Stephanie Hernandez.

On boy's JV, Tim Baerwald finished with a time of 24.24 earning him a place on Varsity next week.

This weekend the Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams competed at North Port High School. The Boys’ Varsity came in 11th place out of 31 schools. The top 3 finishers were Joseph Poteet with 19:36, Chris Ramos with a time of 20:14 and Leo Rodriegez with 20:34

The Girls Varsity came in 16th place out of 26 teams. The first 3 finishers were Corey Pethers with 23:58, Trinity Garcia with a time of 25:05 this was her 1st race ever. And Brenna Radjewski with a time of 25,47.

Personal records were achieved by most of the boy's and girl's teams with some newcomers having a great showing: Giulio Diracca: 21:38 (2nd race ever), John Seal: 22:37 (2nd race ever) and Elvin Cuevas: 22:34 (1st race ever)

Please congratulate these athletes for their hard work and dedication!

This weekend the Girls and Boys Cross Country teams competed at Mariner High School against 28 teams.

The top 3 finishers for the girls were: Isabella Snyder with 23:25, Brenna Radjewski with a time of 26:51 and Skyanna Billman with a time of 26:50

The Boys Varsity came in 7th out of 28 teams. The top 3 finishers were Joseph Poteet with 19:00, Chris Ramos with 19:49, and Leonardo Rodriegez with 20:08.

The Boys JV had a great race taking 3rd place overall!

John Seal won a medal for 7th with a time of 21:56 earning a spot on varsity. Elvin Cuevas also won a Medal for 8th place with a time of 22:06 and Tre Cooper was the 3rd finisher for ICHS with 23:34. Please congratulate these students for their hard work and dedication. Wish them luck as the teams compete at Venice this weekend.

This weekend the Boys and Girls Cross Country teams competed at Venice High School.

The girls team came in 5th. The top 3 finishers for the girls were *Corey Pethers with a time of 23:06 earning a medal for 6th place overall *Isabella Snyder with a time of 23:18 earning a medal for 9th place overall and *Brenna Radjewski with 24:40 and 21st place.

~ The Boys Varsity team came in 4th overall. The top 3 boys were

Joseph Poteet with a time of 18:47. Earning a 10th place medal *Chris Ramos with 19:28. Earning a 17th ribbon And *Brandon Garcia with 19:33 earning a 19th place ribbon.

The Boys JV won 2nd place overall and a trophy! Top 3 ICHS finishers were:

~Nick Hermann with a time of 20:30 and 1st place overall Elvin Cuevas with a time of 21:15 and 7th place overall and Tre Cooper with 21:50

41 schools from all over the United States competed and the kids had a great time.The top 3 finishers for the Girls Varsity were:

1. Cory Pethers - 22:57
2. Isabella Snyder - 23:18 
3. Brenna Radjewski - 24:32

The top three finishers for the Boys Varsity were:
1. Chris Ramos - 18:38 
2. Brandon Garcia - 18:54 
3. John Seal - 19:53 

Top Boys JV finishers were:

1. Andy Guteriez - 21:45.
2. Fabian Torres - 22:09. 
3. Jayson Rolan - 22:16.

Yesterday the Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams competed at Estero Community Park against 13 schools.

The Girls came in 6th place beating their rival Ida Baker and missing 4th place by a mere 5 points. (to put this in perspective, each of the 5 girls needed to pass one more person to get fourth) Top 5 finishers were:
1. Isabella Snyder with a time of 22:54 in 15th place overall 2. Cory Pethers with 24:59 and 27th place 3. Brenna Radjewski with 25:12 and 29th place 4. Shawna Roberts with 26:04 and 36th 5. Skyanna Billman with 28:00 and 46th

The Boys finished in 6th place also. The top 5 finishers were:
1. Brandon Garcia 18:47 20th place
2.  Joseph Poteet - 19::28  32nd
3. Nick Herman - 19:37 34th
4. Leo Rodriguez - 20.07 41st
5. Samir Lestor - 20:19 44th

Saturday the Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams competed at Veterans Park against 13 schools.

The Girls came in 6th place missing qualifying as a team by 21 points with 1 athlete, Isabella Snyder qualifying for regionals.
Top 5 finishers were:
1. Isabella Snyder with a time of 22:08 in 13th place overall QUALIFYING for regions!
2. Cory Pethers with a time of 22:24 in 16th place overall. Corey missed qualifying for regions by one place & less than 2 seconds.
3. Brenna Radjewski with 25:16 39th place 4. Shawna Roberts with 25:32
5. Skyanna Billman with 26:37

The Boys finished in 6th place and missed qualifying for regions as a team by merely 4 points! The top 7 finishers were:

1. Joseph Poteet 18:56 20th place
2. Brandon Garcia 18:59 23rd place
3. Chris Ramos - 19:20 29th place
4. Leo Rodriguez - 19:51
5. Nick Herman - 20:32
6. Samir Lestor - 20:51
7. Elvin Cuevas - 21:17

Please wish Isabella Snyder good  luck as she competes Friday in Lakeland at Regionals. She is only the second female from ICHS in Cross Country to accomplish this milestone!
